The Yancy Spencer III Memorial Surf Contest
📍Pensacola Beach Pier | 9 am (weather permitting)

Celebrate the legacy of Gulf Coast surf legend Yancy Spencer III at this beloved annual surf contest on Pensacola Beach. Surfers from across the region will gather for a full day of waves, music, food, and community—all to support Pensacola native Shawn Martin in his fight against a rare kidney disease. Spectators are welcome (free of charge!) and can enjoy the raffle, surf action, and a laid-back afterparty at The Salty Rose featuring surf films, games, and an awards ceremony.🏄‍♂️

Walk-In Art Bar-Mother’s Day Fun

No reservation, no stress—just creative fun! Bring Mom and make something beautiful together at the Walk-In Art Bar. Military Appreciation Day

Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival

Ahoy, matey! The 69th annual Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival sails into Downtown Fort Walton Beach for five days of pirate-themed fun, live music, fireworks, and family-friendly adventure. Admission is free, and the whole community is invited!

A rock-filled afternoon at Juana’s Pagodas! The KROCK Summer Jam Part 1 is bringing a free Veterans Tribute Show to Navarre Beach, featuring Derek St. Holmes of the Ted Nugent Band, along with opening acts Thin Ice and Shenanigans.

Memorial Day Weekend Fireworks Show at The Boardwalk

Harbor Nights with the Harbor Street Parade
📍Harborwalk Village, Destin | 6 pm to 9 pm

Enjoy live acoustic music, roaming performers, and waterfront views during Harbor Nights—then stick around as the Harbor Street Parade rolls through at 8:30 PM, complete with festive floats, stilt walkers, and The Village Brass Band.

It’s a weeknight celebration worth the drive from Navarre.

The Island Concert Series
📍The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach | 6 pm to 9 pm

It’s back! Wednesday nights at The Island are about to get a whole lot louder—in the best way. From May 28 through July 30, enjoy live music, cold drinks, beachside tacos, and a weekly fireworks show at 9 PM.

🎶 The series kicks off with a shrimp boil and Shenanigans on May 28, then keeps the party rolling with a new band each week—spanning rock, country, pop, and everything in between.

Whether you’re coming for the tacos, the tunes, or that unbeatable view of fireworks over the Gulf, this is a summer tradition you won’t want to miss.

Pro tip: Bring a chair or blanket, and come early to grab food from the Tacos & Tequila truck and a drink from the beach bar.
We’ll bring the music—you bring your people.

Thursday, May 29th

All American Thursday
📍 HarborWalk Village, Destin | 6:30 pm

Mark your calendar for an evening of music, gratitude, and community pride at All American Thursdays. The night kicks off at 6:30 PM with a Hometown Hero Ceremony honoring a local first responder, veteran, or community figure. Expect heartfelt moments with a vintage flyover, performances from Reid Soria with Autism Sings, and appearances by the honor guard.

Kids can get hands-on at the free craft station, where they’ll create patriotic art or write letters to real-life heroes—each letter mailed and matched with a $1 donation to a related nonprofit.

From 7 to 9 PM, the Band of Revival takes the main stage, while guests enjoy free beverage samples and eco-friendly swag giveaways (just bring your recyclables!). The evening wraps with a fireworks show over the harbor and a fire-spinning finale by Autumn Lyfe.

Experience two nights of thrilling rodeo action, including bull riding, barrel racing, and the ever-popular K-9 and SWAT demonstrations. This family-friendly event supports the SRSO Star Foundation, benefiting our local law enforcement heroes. Tickets are $15 online or $20 at the gate, with free admission for kids 5 and under. Friday night offers discounted admission for first responders and military personnel with valid ID.
